Owning a home holds a place of enormous pride, however, owning a beautiful and expensive home is a dream that we are share and one that we all hope to make a reality, after we become rich and famous of course. However, many of the most expensive homes in the world are not made, but inherited through wealthy families from histories past. They are lavish, and they are expensive and we all want to know where there are, how much they cost and who owns them.
  1. Updown Court, England is currently the most expensive home in the world costing over 122.2 million dollars and has 103 rooms, five swimming pools, a squash court among many amenities as well as an underground parking lot that will hold ten limousines
  2. Three Ponds in Bridgehampton, New York is a 25,000 square foot property complete with the most lavish detailing including of course, three ponds stocked with fish, not to mention a U.S golf-association rated golf course with pro shop and over 60 acres of waterfront farmland and costs 75 million dollars.
  3. The Pierre in Manhattan is the third most expensive home in the world with three penthouses in its upper echelons of the hotel that is the famous Pierre.  You can look out 20-foot French windows or study in the paneled library, and it only costs 70 million dollars.
  4. Malibu, California is a second home to the stars so trying to buy land in this lavish area is tricky. However, unless you have 65 million dollars to purchase this 7-acre spread that has 7 bedrooms and eleven bathrooms all with panoramic ocean views, then you are out of luck.
  5. Toprak Mansions in North London is one of the most sought after areas in England and this mansion was built by Turkish entrepreneur, Halis Toprak, who built his home that spans a vast 28,000 square feet complete with a glass elevator and Turkish bath and costs 61.1 million dollars.
  6. Bel-Air, California is host to a 53 million dollar mansion that has every amenity in the world including fruit orchards, a bowling alley, not to mention 34,000 square feet of space in a home that has 9 bedrooms and 20 baths.
  7. Monet Carlo, Monaco is home to one of the most lavish mansions in the world that is 48 million dollars and includes a 6 thousand square foot spread with a wine cellar and a hammam not to mention a 1500 square foot terrace.
  8. Hoisted over the breath-taking bluffs of the Cote d’Azur, is the 45 million dollar mansion in Cannes, France that has 10 bedrooms and ten baths and 13,000 square foot of room to move around.
  9. In Batam, Indonesia, there is a private tropical island with a house on it and it costs 27 million dollars to own this oasis, or rather, paradise ringed with mangroves and lavish beaches.
  10. In Hong Kong, China there is a four-story mansion on Severn Road in an area called the Peak where prices surely do peak. This mansion is 6,000 square feet and has four terraced bedrooms, four bathrooms and a swimming pool with a waterfall. It costs 24 million dollars to own.
